Hans Scharoun

Hans Scharoun (1893–1972) is among the leading German architects of the Modern period. His early experiments with free planning continued after the war, as exemplified in the acclaimed Philharmonie concert hall in Berlin. This book provides an overview of Scharoun's life and work and explores his theoretical stance in relation to contemporaries such as Hugo Haring and Le Corbusier.

‘We will not see in our time a better (or more handsome) book on Scharoun than this.’
